| Centennial Soccer FUNDraiser Car Wash a big success!Posted: Wednesday, August 18, 2010On Tuesday, Aug. 17, the U12 girls raised $146 for our club in just 2.5 hours. Many thanks go to Kim McCalla, owner of Anytime Fitness in Lino Lakes for her hospitality in hosting the event in their parking lot. At one point, there were 4 cars in line to get washed by our hard-working girls. Many thanks to Holly Bastyr for volunteering to oversee the activities. Funds raised will be used for worthy Causes, including supporting soccer scholarships, goal/net purchases and underwriting activities for our great club. |
| U12 C1 Girls CougarsPosted: Wednesday, August 18, 2010
The U12 C1 Girls - Cougars had a very successful season, culminating in a U12 C1 State Runner's Up Finish at the MYSA State Tournament. In the State Final, they battled an extremely talented MTA Team to the bitter end, giving up the deciding goal with only one minute left in double overtime. It was a fantastic year, one that everyone will remember in years to come.
The girls won a strong U12C1 North Division in resounding fashion, with a 9-1 record, scoring 45 goals and giving up only 8. Our overall record was 29-5-2, scoring 143 goals and giving up only 33. In tournament play, we won 17 games, losing only 4. We performed very strongly in tournaments and brought home the Championship Trophy for the Eau Claire Tournament.
All the girls worked extremely hard all season long. They played for each other, bonded together as a team, and competed like true Champions!

| U15 Centennial Boys Soccer TeamPosted: Sunday, August 01, 2010 The U 15 Boys soccer team had a fantastic year, they met the majority of the goals that they set for the season. This was their first season as a C2 team, and one of their main goals was to earn more than 75% of the MYSA points so they could go back to C1. The boys obtained this goal and they were just shy of obtaining their 2nd goal of winning the state tournament. They won the Blaine Breakout Tournament and they played very well in the MN Thunder and Rochester Tournaments, and they made it to the semi finals in the USA Cup. The boys had a 19 – 7 – 7 record with 16 shutouts. Players had an opportunity to participate in 122 activities that started in January. The majority of the players participated in Goal Kick and NSC indoor games, Acceleration North pre-season conditioning training, and the coaches hosted pool parties and pizza parties at their homes. Players, coaches, and parents all helped to contribute to the success of the team.

| Cheetahs U11 Girls Runner Up at the NSC Cup TournamentPosted: Thursday, June 03, 2010
Congratulations to the U11 Centennial Cheetahs who came in 2nd place at the NSC Cup Tournament this past weekend. After easily handling the East Select team from Duluth, they then had to play a very formidable opponent team, the MTA 99 E Blue. They lost by a score of 2-8. They knew to have any chance to make it to the semi-finals , they needed to win on Sunday, and they did just that by beating the Wayzata Goldrush by a score of 2-0. Monday came and in the first round they were matched up against a very physical team, the DASC Elite from Sioux Falls, SD. Even though they were run over, the Cheetahs went on to win 3-0, which set up a rematch against the MTA 99 E Blue team for the championship. They kept the score close and went into halftime with a score of 0-1 in favor of the Thunder. In what proved to be a great game, the Cheetahs eventually lost by a score of 0-3. Nice work girls!! |

In Eagan, they went 2-1 and played in the championship. They lost 2-1 in overtime to Minneapolis United. The girls played four great games.
They just played in the Dakota Rev Tournament and went 3-0 and missed playing in the championship by one point. All three wins were shutouts. The girls played amazing and this has been a great start to the season! |
| Way to Go CyclonesPosted: Sunday, May 16, 2010The Cyclones girls U11 team represented our club in fine fashion at the Mahtomedi tournament ending on May 16. In three games, the Cyclones scored 13 goals and gave up just one; ending with a record of 2 wins and a tie.
Strong defense & goaltending, aggressiveness, passing and confident footwork have set the Cyclones on a winning path. Scoring has been unusually diverse – with 7 different girls notching goals and almost all involved in scoring plays at the tournament. |
