Summer 2010 Evaluations

Minimize

Evaluations for 2011 Summer Traveling team formation will be held in late July and early August 2010.  See below for the tentative dates for each specific age group.

All players planning to play 2011 traveling summer soccer for the Centennial Soccer Club must attend BOTH scheduled evaluation sessions to be considered for placement on the most competitive team at their age group.  If a player is unable to attend both/any of the sessions, they must notify both the appropriate age group director (at u9u12@centennialsoccer.org or U13u19@centennialsoccer.org)  AND the registrar (at registrar@centennialsoccer.org).

All evaluation sessions will be held at Centennial Middle School on the far western fields, past the tennis courts, down the walking path, and beyond the baseball/football fields.

Be sure to have your player arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled session to allow time for check-in and warm-ups.

U9 - U19 Summer Traveling Program

Minimize
The heart of our soccer programming is the summer traveling season. Teams in our summer traveling program compete against other traveling teams mainly in the North and East Districts from the U9 to U19 age groups. Summer traveling teams are formed based on evaluations conducted by independent evaluators and the coaching staff. Evaluations for the U9 to U10 age groups take play in late July, and in the first weeks following the MYSA state tournament for the U11 to U19 age groups.
The purpose of summer traveling evaluations is to place players in levels commensurate with their skills and abilities. There are typically two evaluation sessions for each age group. All player evaluations are subject to the Evaluation Policy adopted by the Centennial SC Board of Directors.
The Centennial SC evaluation schedule for the summer 2010 season has been set by the Board of Directors. These sessions are in late July and early August 2009. This schedule is tentative and we reserve the right to change dates and times if necessary. Your child must attend ALL sessions for their age group.
Following the evaluation sessions, players selected will receive an electronic "bid" for a summer traveling team. Once a player accepts their bid, they are required to pay a down payment set by the Board of Directors. This down payment is non-refundable. The total registration fee for the 2010 summer traveling season will be set by the Board of Directors in May or June 2009. Please continue to monitor our site for information on the summer traveling program. Questions regarding the summer traveling program should be sent via e-mail to info@centennialsoccer.org or to the appropriate Age Group Director.
In addition to fees set by Centennial SC for the summer traveling program, players can expect to incur additional fees based on a team’s participation in winter and spring training activities and tournaments. Players provide their own uniforms through our authorized provider, SoccerUSA in Blaine.
The Director of Coaching is responsible for screening applicants for coaching positions in the summer traveling program. Most U9 to U12 teams have volunteer parent coaches. In order to assist our volunteer coaches, we offer coach education sessions to help our coaches grow in their understanding of the game.  Most U13 to U19 teams hire paid coaches, who are required to go through the same application process as volunteer coaches. If a team uses a paid coach, individual teams are required to assume the expenses associated with that coach. Permissible coaching fees vary based on a coach’s experience, leagues and training, which are established by the Club. Questions on coaching with the Club should be sent to the Director of Coaching at doc@centennialsoccer.org.
